If you are a devoted follower of Jesus, you already know that the purpose of this life is to become more like Him. All good church traditions teach this.
This site contains essays and videos that give you very specific techniques that help you to raise your kids to be more as Jesus, sooner. To prepare them to be a blessing to each other, you, and everyone they meet. To prepare each of them for a life of other centered service.

What we’re building
Raising Family Right is a faith-based resource for families who believe a child can be taught to love God, honor truth, and grow a sturdy character — in a world that will not do that work for you.
Not slogans. The actual Word, brought into the kitchen, the car, bedtime, and the hard conversations.
We are teacher grandparents. We have raised children, lost children, and kept going. This will not be theory.
No course funnel. No ads. No selling your name. If the Lord lets us write something useful, it should not have a paywall.
Who we are
Unfortunately, as is often the case, my first marriage did not survive the death of TJ at age 14. It set me on a path of spiritual seeking that eventually, and miraculously, brought me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That story is told in this 26 minute video, if you are interested.
I am now happily married to Ellice Taylor Tomeny, a lifelong Saint of pioneer heritage. We live in Orem, Utah. Between us we have nine children and seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Ellice has taught art in public school since 2015. I have spent much of my life teaching, building, and trying to put good tools in the hands of families.
Ellice shares in one of life’s heaviest burdens: each of us has buried a child. Trey’s oldest son, TJ, went to be with Jesus in 2005 at fourteen. Ellice’s middle son, Joshua, entered eternity in 2016 at twenty-five. That grief has not made us softer on truth. It has made us more urgent about what we can do to help others with parenting.
This is the beginning of a work we want to leave for parents who still believe children can be raised right.
